One of the hot topics at DevCon last week was security and OPC architectures. Everyone is interested in the security features that OPC UA offers, such as being ‘firewall friendly’, functionalities for confidentiality, integrity and application authentication and leveraging other standards such as WS Security, WS Secure Conversation and XML Encryption.
